MEET HALEY BLACK
Welcome, I’m so grateful that you are here! I reside in Greenville, South Carolina with my husband, Cody Black, and our three pups, Brewer, Millie, and Willow. We have been married for four years and together for 9. We love to hike, kayak, spoil our pups, work in the yard, travel, music, host events, cook, complete endless projects in our home, and a good wine. Here you will find style tips, design ideas, recipes, favorite products, and day to day life from the good, the bad, and everything in between. Five words that describe me are intentional, detailed, reliable, perfectionist, and passionate.
My five daily goals are to have faith, pray, prosper in my purpose, grow in everything I do, and never stop being passionate. Every day, new opportunities arise. Without trying, is failing, and we have to remind ourselves that failing leads to success. Time management, critical thinking, and positive thinking, help me balance these goals daily.
Haley Black Designs offers a unique vareity of services to accommodate the needs of every client. I have always had a passion for old and custom homes, beautiful details, and classical character. From the time I was a little girl, I knew that I wanted to be a professional within the Interior Design field. From designing my doll houses, to constantly redesigning my bedroom, to designing vacation bible school at church, to working for professional designers, I wanted more. My passion for design grew as I studied Interior Design, with a focus in Business, at Anderson University. While studying at AU, I discovered my love only grew deeper. My purpose in life is to serve others by creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces that will enhance their lives, create memories, and tell a story. Functionality and aestheticism should balance each other out, one should not outweigh the other. Within interior design, my interests include being hands on, communicating, space planning, and selecting hard-scape and soft-goods (finishes, furniture, fixtures, accessories, and more). I am inspired daily through media outlets, shopping, artwork, surrounding environments, and the beauty of nature.
No matter what the scale of the project is, I will not let you down. I am here to make your dreams come true, to fine tune every small detail, and create a space or event that will reflect your personality.

Just like the walls in a structure tells a different story, every client has a story to be told. Interior designers are here to help tell those stories. As a designer, I believe in reflecting and capturing the individual’s personality. From concept through completion, every design phase is critical in order to create an authentic space which captures one’s individuality by utilizing sophistication, timeless and functional elements. Textures, patterns, architectural elements, furniture, and culture, are the strategies of good design.

No.. 1 Meet + Greet
Let's meet! We will chat and get to know one another over a nice warm (or frozen / iced) cup of coffee. (Not up for coffee, let's meet somewhere else!)I will set up a detailed questionnaire to understand what you are looking for on your special day.
No. 2 Contract
Once we see if we are a great match for each other, we will move on to setting up and signing a contract.
No. 3 Checklist
I will create a customized checklist for the bride + groom.
No. 4 Planning and Preparing
During this time, planning, scheduling, confirming, and preparing will take time. This time frame depends on your timeline.
No. 5 Coordination
The day has arrived and it is time to hand over the full reigns to your planner! I will not disappoint + will make sure everything goes smoothly on your day. Focus on becoming the new mr. + mrs.

The Brewer
No matter where you are at in the planning process, HB designs is here to work with you and for you. We will aid you in vendors, schedule consultations, assist with rentals, keep the bride + groom on schedule, provide checklists, and attend meetings.

The Millie
HB designs is your go to planner and coordinator for every aspect of your BIG day! We will plan and manage all of the details, but do not stress, you will be able to participate as much as you would like in all the final decisions!

Yum, this so GOOD! A great friend of mine made this Brazilian coffee for me. A must have in my coffee rotation! The easiest way to make this is warm coffee on the stove top, pour in your favorite mug, and add sweetened condensed milk!
Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. I love the colors that nautre brings out along with the coziness! I cling tight to this season as I sip hot cider on the deck, soak in the cool breeze while the pups play in the yard, and cozy up on the sofa watching Gilmore Girls.
My ALL time favorite holiday creamer. This crack in a bottleis so freaking YUM! It is best served in a Cold Brew (Starbucks and Stok). It’s also delightful in a hot cup of Folgers Black Silk.
Give me a sweater, hot cocoa, and Hallmark channel and I will stay right here, cozied up on the sofa all day!
We went glamping several years ago and let’s just say that Brewer was not a fan at all! He is def one spoiled pup who prefers the warm indoors.
These sweet babies are my whole world. I don’t know what life would be without them and don’t care to find out! They are the best gifts ever given to us.
Chili Beans
- Chop 1 Red Onion & Place in Hot Pan
- Sprinkle a Dash of Chili Powder
- Cook Until it Starts to Turn Translucent
- Add Ground Meat (I use beef, but you can substitute for turkey)
- Sprinkle 1 Tablespoon of Chili Powder
- Cook Thoroughly
- Add Beans to Crockpot: 2- 15.5 Cans Chili Beans | 2- 15.5 Cans Black Beans 2- 15.5 Cans Dark Red Kidney Beans - Make Sure to Drain Beans (Beans are Your Preference)
- Add 1- 8oz Can Tomato Sauce to Crockpot
- Add 1- 14.5 Can Diced Tomatoes to Crockpot (Regular or Fire Roasted)
- Sprinkle 1/2 Packet of Chili Powder Over Beans and Mix
- Add Meat + Onions to Crockpot
- Sprinkle the Remaining Chili Powder and Mix
- Cook on Low 6-8 Hours or High 3-4 Hours
- For Extra Flavor: Sprinkle Garlic Powder, Cumin, Salt, Pepper ove Chili Bean
- Top with Sour Cream, Cheese, and Chives or Onions
- Serve with my Cornbread Recipe
Creamy Chili Beans
To Make My Chili Beans “Creamy” Follow the Steps Above
- Once Everything is Added to the Crockpot, Add the Following:
- 1 Block Velveeta Cheese
- 1 10.5oz Can of Cream of Mushroom
- 1/2 - 1 Jar of Salsa
- Cook on Low 6-8 Hours or High 3-4 Hours
Taco Rice
Option 1
- Brown Meat (Beef, Turkey, Your Preference)
- Add Taco Seasoning Before Meat is Cooked Thoroughly
- Once Meat is Cooked, Add 1 Can Diced Tomatoes or Salsa (Optional)
- Add Yellow Rice and Water (Around 2.5-3 Cups) to Same Pot
- Once Rice is Cooked, Serve in a Bowl or Taco
- Pour Queso Over (We Use Queso from our Favorite Mexican Restaurant)
- Can Add Lettuce
Option 2
- Cook Beans (Pintos, Black Beans, Your Preference)
- Mix Yellow Rice and Taco Seasoning in Seperate Pot
- Cool Yellow Rice per Package Directions
- Once Rice is Done, Combine Rice and Beans or Keep Seperate
- Serve in a Bowl or Taco
- Pour Queso Over
- Can Add Lettuce
Creamy Italian Sausage Parm Soup
This Soup Becomes a 2 in 1 and it is SO Good! The First Night it is Very Soupy, Nights 2 and 3 Becomes More Pasta like as the Liquid Thickens.
- Cook 1 Chopped Onion until it Starts to get Translucent Optional - Sprinkle a Dash of Italian Seasoning for More Flavor
- Add 1 Pound Ground Italian Sausage & Cook Thoroughly Optional - Sprinkle a Dash of Italian Seasoning for More Flavor
- Add 3 Chopped Garlic Cloves & a Dash of Red Pepper Flakes - Cook for 1-2 Minutes
- Add 32oz Vegetable Broth (or Chicken Broth), 1- 14.5oz Can of Diced Tomatoes | 1/2 Pound Box of Ditalani Pasta & 1 tsp of Italian Seasoning - Bring to a Boil, then Let Simmer Until Pasta is Al-Dente
- Add a Handful of Parmesan Cheese (1/2 Bag), 4oz Cream Cheese, and 1/2 Cup of Chobani Extra Creamy Oatmilk (or Heavy Whipping Cream) - Cook Until Cheese is Melted
- Top with Sour Cream, Parmesan Cheese, and Parsley

Christmas 2023 was inspired by a modern day New York City x Macy’s and Ralph Lauren with touches of traditional reds, tartan plaids, camel leather, silvers, and natural greenery.

Mod Eclectic
We love this time of year! It is so easy to add in New Year’s Eve decor on top of Christmas. Because let’s be honest, I am not ready to put Christmas up! This season is so magical. My birthday is New Years’ Eve, so we love going ALL out! Once January comes, we put up all of the “Christmasy” items and leave the greenery up (garlands, stems, etc). until Valentine’s Day.

Christmas 2021 was one of the hardest Christmas’ to get through as this was the first without my papa.

Grab your pumpkin spice cold brew with cold foam and let’s thow some leaves, take a ride on a hayride, and pick some pumpkins and apples.
Halloween 2023 was inspired by twinkling lights, ghosts, witches, bats and skeletons. Oh my!
